KNK zamac, a production cooperative based in Ľubietová, is a manufacturer of technical castings, including galvanic and organic metal surface treatments. The production cooperative was established in 1993, when it followed the production activities of the production cooperative for the disabled ROZKVET, existing since 1956.
At the KNK – Zamac plant in Ľubietová, the basic raw material used in the production of zinc alloy is ZAMAC 5. Die-casting technology produces not only furniture hardware, but also various technical castings, e.g. for the automotive and music industries.
Semi-finished products are processed mechanically and chemically. The surface of the products is galvanically treated – standard brass, chrome, chrome matt, nickel, nickel matt, black nickel and patina on brass or copper, with powder firing colors in RAL shades or imitations of galvanic surface treatments, as well as the use of wet painting process technology.

The main raw material in production is zinc alloy (Zamak5), which is further processed mechanically (grinding, satin-finishing, polishing and trimming) and then galvanically (glossy or matte nickel & chrome, brass, patina, black nickel, copper), powder firing paints or “wet process” painting.

Our company specializes in professional die casting of metals for various industries, where emphasis is placed on detail, strength and reliability of the resulting parts.
Trimming and shearing of complicated zinc castings that cannot be easily separated from the inlet and overflow kidneys and absorbers due to their damage, so the ideal choice is to use an eccentric press for their separation, as it is a fast mechanical trimming press of robust construction, which converts the permanent rotary movement of the motor using an air clutch into a straight downward movement of the ram, where its greater force is, and subsequently the ram with one part of the shearing preparation returns to the top with the help of an eccentric, the lift height of the ram on which the shearing device is clamped can be adjusted.

Galvanic nickel plating is a proven surface treatment of parts, in which we apply a thin final layer of nickel using an electrochemical process to the previous underlying layers of copper.
Galvanic chroming is done in a fully automatic PLC Simatic controlled hanging line, during which chromium is excreted from the electrolyte onto the surface of a magnetically conductive material such as steel, zinc (the zinc alloy we use for pressure casting is ZAMAC5) on which the previous base layers of nickel, acid copper and cyanide copper have been applied.
We perform galvanic plating using curtain technology by an electrochemical process (electrolysis), in which galvanic micron layers of copper, nickel, chromium metals are applied to the surface of a magnetically conductive material using a direct current in the range from 10A to 1500A, which results in excellent protection against corrosion, an increase in the hardness of the product and a beautiful decorative appearance.
